WHEN DOES THE TOOTH NEED TO BE EXTRACTED?
Tooth extraction is when a tooth is removed. It may need to be removed for any numbers of reasons including:
- The tooth is too damaged or decayed to repair
- Wisdom teeth
- Impacted teeth or a crowded mouth
- Risk of Infection
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TOOTH EXTRACTION?
The mouth, gums and jawbone are numbed with a local anesthetic if you are getting one tooth extracted or a general anesthetic if multiple teeth need to be extracted. This will help you relax during the procedure. You will feel pressure. The reason you will feel pressure and not pain is because the nerves are numb so you will not feel any pain.
