Here’s a Resolution for the New Year that’s Easy to Keep
OK, we’re a week into 2016 and if all media accounts are correct, then you’ve probably broken all the resolutions you made for the new year. Oh, boy! While that is an exaggeration, we all know how difficult it is to keep new years’ resolutions. However, I have one for you that is easy to do and will give you a lifetime of positive feedback:
Brush your teeth twice a day and floss once each day.
Yes, you’ve heard it before and there’s a reason for that – it works! I just wrote last week about thinking about your teeth in 2016. The week before, I wrote about the best dental advice – and that included brushing twice each day.
Believe that a theme is developing?
Brushing twice each day is not difficult and you will reap dividends because it will be less likely for you to develop major oral disorders. Brushing won’t cure all of the potential ills of oral health or mean that you can be guaranteed no problems, but if you do not maintain a proper brushing schedule then it is pretty much predetermined that you’re going to wind up with a mouthful of (expensive) problems.
The best thing about brushing twice each day is that it is pretty much free. You most likely get a free toothbrush when you get cleanings twice each year with your dentist. Toothpaste is usually tossed in. If you have to buy your own, a basic toothbrush is just a dollar or two and toothpaste doesn’t cost much more. So, finances are not an excuse.
